Two PERFECT buns in the oven!

We left our beach condo last night and made the 3 hour trip back home so we wouldn’t have to do all of that stressful trying to get there on time driving in the morning. It’s a good thing that we did because the rain was literally coming down in sheets this morning when we were en route to the hospital.

When the nurse took me back and did an ultrasound to check my bladder, she handed me two bottles of water and exclaimed, “Drink up! I’ll be back in fifteen minutes.UGH. Typically I have to pee all of the time. My bladder is perpetually full. However, because we were depending upon it’s state of fullness, one coffee, a glass of water and an iced tea later, it still wasn’t full. By the time I downed the water that the nurse gave me I literally felt like I would be sick if I drank another sip. Getting sick from drinking water would be a first.

She then came back with the doctor and they checked me again. Still, I was a no-go. Dr. Dodson suggested that we give it another ten minutes. He was right. Ten minutes later, my bladder was displayed as a big black blob on the ultrasound machine and all was right with the world. Except for the fact that the pressure of the ultrasound witchchamacolit made me feel like I was going to explode.

However, I AM NOT COMPLAINING! Dr. Dodson informed me earlier that we had TWO PERFECT eight cell embryos to transfer! This is very exciting news, as last time we had one eight cell and one three cell embryo and the word perfect never came out of his mouth. There were three thawed to get the two that are thriving, sadly one of our snowbabies did not make it.

Right before the transfer, the embryologist examined the babies one more time and the doctor informed me that one of the snowbabies had grown to TEN CELLS since that morning! This REALLY made us smile! The transfer went without a hitch and now we have two perfect buns in the oven!

We had lunch and then headed back to the beach. The forecast for tomorrow is sunny with a slight breeze and low humidity. Sounds like perfect conditions for letting these little ones settle in.

Thanks for all of you prayers, love and support! Here’s to a spectacular two weeks!
