I have NEWS!!!

“Any news?” asks a  colleague who is not only  sweet with a kind soul, but has traveled the road of infertility herself, and has never forgotten the pain.

“Heard anything?” asks a neighbor who has been cheering me on and has two Clomid babies of her own.

“What’s the latest?” asks a the colleague across the hall who brings a smile to my face every morning in spite of her own struggles at home.

“I didn’t want to ask, but…” starts my Nan.

“Thinking of you, girl!  You’re in my prayers!” says an e-mail from a very dear friend who I don’t get to see nearly enough.

Well…we have news to share!  All of the paperwork has been officially signed.  The embryos (OUR snowflakes!) are going able to be released from the clinic where they are being stored.  My agency is arranging for the shipment of the embryos as I type this!  The embryos can only be shipped when the embryologist where they are being stored is available to prepare them and place them in a dry shipper.   Then, they will be transported across the country from California (give Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg a kiss good-bye for me, babies, California Love!), getting their kicks on route 66, maybe visiting Mt. Rushmore* or the Grand Canyon* along the way, and rolling into PA!  We should have a date for shipment any day now!

Of course I will update you on the shipment date as soon as I have it.  But, to all of you who have been caring enough to ask, thank you.  From the bottom of my heart, thank you again.  It’s so wonderful to have a people in my corner, cheering me on, and never losing interest or passing judgment.  Not even when the plans had to change and I had to take the 27 detours that this journey has encompassed.  Not once has anyone ever raised an eyebrow or questioned any of our decisions.  You let me talk, you let me cry, you reminded me over and over again that some day I WILL be a mom.  Thank each of you for being everything that I have needed.  For all of you wonderful souls, I am grateful.  I have to go now.  It’s Friday afternoon and I should be celebrating, not crying at my keyboard…

Have a great weekend everyone!

*Disclaimer:  I have no idea if either of these places would able to be conveniently visited from Route 66.  I was just thinking of where I would take the snowflakes if they were on a road trip across the country with me at the wheel.
